We went to see a science show in the Muritai centre.
We saw experiments showing how bubbles are filled with gas,
how dry ice has a reaction when placed in water, and how some things combine to make a mixture but others separate (like water and oil).
The photo below shows water
(with blue food colouring added) and oil.
We tried to mix them up a few times but they soon separated again.
Hi Room 11

James was it cool to hold the bottle?
From Harley and Gilligan.
Yes I liked holding it. Did you like the science in a van?

Hi, I didn't make it fizz....that is just the oil sitting at the top, the blue water is on the bottom.

I think your post is great room 11! I like the
ReplyDeletephotos. What is dry ice? What is in the bottle?
By Henry
Wow those are really good photos because of the dry ice reaction with water. That's awesome! Also I wonder how do you get dry ice?!-Macs
ReplyDeleteThanks Macs, there was a VERY talented and skilled photographer taking those photos. Dry Ice is the solid for of carbon dioxide....but I'm not sure how you make it.....I bet you can google that and find an answer.

That is cool. What did you use to make that mixture? Did you use blue food colouring and oil or did you use some other stuff? Did you have a good time at Science in a Van? Well I did by Marco
ReplyDeleteYes, it was cool seeing the oil and water together, did you like the science in a van?
